This is the place to be on a typical West wind day. There can be a large wind shadow at the launch site, if the wind switches more to the South West.

Water

Budenheim is well know for its big swells With 3 - 6 foot (1-2 meter) swells in the middle on bigger days, this is a perfect site for high jumps.

The launch side is flat and shallow for smooth jibes and quick beach starts. On the opposite shore, the water flattens out into chop.

Rig & Launch

The road ends directly at the launch site.Beside it, there's a grass rigging area located in front of the parking area.
It's very easy to launch from a ramp, that leads directly into the water.

Warnings

Generally watch out for the barge lane which runs near the launch site !
