A memorable session :: Rhône River / France

In our new series a memorable session rippers from arround the globe tell us a story of an memorable session at their home river.

The first story is told by Jean-Charles from France:"All windsurfers have their so-called home spot, a type of playground, where they gather as soon as the branches of the trees start shaking.

We do know our home spot so well, so that we know exactly when it makes us tremble. Yesterday we just knew it: The following morning would be perfect.
 

I arrive at 8:15 and 15 minutes later I am the first one on the water.
The wind is picking up quickly and gets strong, very strong.
I can see the first big ramps building up. I am not alone for a long time, very quickly other fanatics join the fun.

There are always the same guys : They are the only one who are able to sail between the barges and swallow cups of diesel oil ?

You got it, we are in Chasse sur Rh?ne : A spot at the Rh?ne River near Lyon which is famous for its water quality and its strong winds.
The wind has increased and we are already way overpowered on our 4m? sails!

Today, it's just impossible to play the great hero. We are happy with high jumps, very fast frontloops, even faster backloops and great backsides.
Days like that are rare and simply unforgettable.
Black and white photographs were the best option to capture the timeless character of this epic session."
